Author’s Note: For those non-Filipino readers, ‘gwapo’ is a Filipino term for the word ‘handsome’. ☺
Those smiles? Lovely eyes. Charming personality; and oh so wow magnificent body. It really is a usual phenomenon that one factor which attracts the most in every show, program or a movie is a handsome star.
Korean entertainment is known for their beautiful actors, and one thing that brought popularity on their industry to the Filipinos were the sought-after, boy-next-door guys. Who would’ve known Lee-Min Ho, Kim-Hyun-Joong, Kim Bum in Boys over Flowers? How about Jang-Geun Suk, Jung Hyong Hwa and even Lee-Seung Gi as well?
Koreanovelas (Korean dramas) are becoming part of the daily Filipino viewing experience. Not just because of the cutie-patootie love story of the couple in a program, but a dainty guy is what makes the Filipinos; especially the Pinays makes excited.
“Ang cuuuute ni Jun Pyo shocks!!! Kinikilig akoooo. :))”
“Gwapo ni Ji-Hoo!”
“Waaa, pakasal na tayo Yi Joong! ♥”
“Tae Kyung, mahal na kita!”
“Marco, tayo na lang please?”
Singers even have their influences as well. My personal favorites were Big Bang’s TOP, Taeyang and G Dragon.
SungMin, Donghae and SiWon of SuJu.
And oh, I won’t forget 2pm’s Taecyeon.
Moreover, the bottom line is that just like those other Fiipino guys that we drool for, e.g Daniel Padilla, Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, JM De Guzman among others, those foreigners has influenced and even ‘poisoned’ 😀 [Pardon me cause they’re really uhhhh.] a lot in the mindset of the audiences.
‘Til my next post!
